    Local consultation workshops

  •

Provide people and places to have a say

Researchers from the Nest team at ARACY are able to carry out consultation activities directly with children and young people in a number of locations across Australia. We are looking to work with partners to carry out consultation workshops in all capital cities and some regional areas where such opportunities arise. Activities can be tailored according to audience, setting, and time available, but will typically entail informal group discussions and / or creative tasks.

A provisional schedule when ARACY researchers will be available to carry out activities in each state is as follows:

    • 13 - 17 July: NW Tas and Hobart
    • 18 - 21 July: Adelaide
    • 23 - 25 July: Canberra
    • 26 - 29 July: Melbourne & Vic
    • 30 - 31 July: Darwin
    • 2 - 3 August: Illawarra, NSW
    • 5 - 8 August: Perth
    • 9 - 12 August: Brisbane & SE Qld
    • 15 - 18 August: Sydney

Support is needed from partners to help organise participants and host these activities with ARACY. If you deal with children and young people on a regular basis, such as at a weekly club, community centre, support group or youth network, you can assist by sourcing and arranging participants, providing venues, and partnering with ARACY researchers to conduct the activity. Workshops can be set up in one central location where participants spend up to 2 hours to discuss issues of wellbeing. Alternatively, researchers can carry out activities on site, for example, as one of your weekly meetings with young people or as part of the program you are running where children and young people are in attendance.

Please contact us by email or by calling 02 6248 2400 to discuss how you can help.

Remember, you can also support the project by promoting The Nest online survey, and you can download some sample text and a promotional poster for the survey here.
